Health is Wealth
At End Poverty Uganda,
we reaffirm our commitment to Good Health and well-being (SDG-3)
WE enhance the potential for productivity through health and wellbeing of our society. We know pretty well, how health is interlinked with Wealth and Development.
We adopt SDG-3 to ensure Healthy Lives and Promote well-being for all at all ages.
Health plays a crucial role in development, influencing physical, cognitive and social aspects of an individual’s life.
Good Health provides a foundation for optimal growth and learning, contributing to overall well-being. Conversely, poor health can hinder development, impacting one’s capability to learn, work, and participate in society; therefore access to health care, nutrition and a supportive environment are key factors in ensuring positive development outcomes.
This is in line with our overall vision of ensuring a Poverty-Free Society.
Health contributes to building a strong human capital that yields economic profits through gains in constant productivity and higher macro- economic growth for any country.
Under this program focus, our strategies are well crafted to ensure that our target communities are at all times in good health state to offer competitive and high quality productivity.
According to ILO, Large numbers of people lack sufficient financial means to access health services.
Worldwide, Millions of people are pushed into Poverty every year by the need to pay for health care. It’s one of our strategic interventions to prevent disease and avoid unnecessary expenditures.
What is Health to Us?
It is well-known to End Poverty-Uganda as an organisation that Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely absence of disease or infirmity. We believe that the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without distinction of Race, religion, political belief, economic or social condition. Remember; we operationalize the principles of the WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION.
